Vicki Paulette (Johnson) Boyd

Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Vicki Paulette Johnson Boyd, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 9, 2020.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, August 17, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Rock Hill with the Rev. Jamie Burdette officiating.  

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Boyd was a daughter of the late Hugh Johnson, Sr. and Eva Mae Twitty Johnson.  She was the owner and manager of two barber shops, Vicki’s Barber Shop, located on Cherry Road and Albright Road.  She was one of the first female Master Barbers in Rock Hill. She was extremely passionate about life and lived her life to the fullest.  Her family and friends were particularly important to her. She loved to sing and write music.  She lived by the motto “If you are going to do something, then do it right.” She was of the Baptist faith and her faith was especially important to her. She loved all her animals and had a large of variety of pets.   

Surviving are three children, Sonya Christine Gunter, Christopher Shawn Gunter (Colleen Moffett), and Sara Ann Boyd; a sister, Sara Lynn Brock; a sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson;  a brother-in-law, Joe Dean Price; five grandchildren, James (Jamie) Edward, Stephanie Olivia, Christopher Brice, John Hayden, and Kimber Elyson; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by John M. Boyd; a brother, Hugh Johnson, Jr.; and two sister, Doris Ross and Ann Price.
