Stephen Boyer Wilkerson

Stephen Boyer Wilkerson “Steve” (65) of Rock Hill, SC passed away, peacefully and surrounded by loved ones, January 23, 2022. He was born December 2, 1956 in Knoxville, Tennessee to James (Jim) and Ann Wilkerson, both preceding him in death. He is survived in death by his loving daughter, Kathleen Wilkerson. Also, surviving him in death are his faithful companion, Mary Sturgis, brother-Rusty Wilkerson (Cathy), sister-Beth Robinson (Joe), and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wilkerson was a graduate of Northwestern High School. He became a life-long employee of Bowater, where he earned the affectionate nickname “Scarecrow” for his always wild hair. Steve lived a life full of adventure and fun. He was at his happiest when he could make everyone around him laugh and was ready to entertain at any moment. He enjoyed reading and watching TV, but mostly Tennessee Vols Football, and could always be counted on for a “Go Big Orange!” during games. He was known as an Oreo connoisseur and was always shopping for the newest flavor to try and to share with others. Steve’s favorite times were spent on the beaches of St. Augustine, Florida catching fish (and memories) with friends or family.

Steve will be remembered by friends and family as hilarious and generous, and as a wonderful daddy, brother, friend, and partner.

Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home of Rock Hill, SC is serving the Wilkerson family. The family will receive friends at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home on February 5, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Community Care.
