Robert Ingram Obituary

Mr. Robert Mitchell Ingram was born on March 20,1961 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Charles Ingram, Sr.  and the late Arnitchel DeBerry Ingram.  He departed this life on Sunday November 20, 2022 at Carolinas Continue Care @ Atrium Health Pineville, NC.

Robert graduated from West Philadelphia High School Class of 1979. Very soon after high school he joined the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller serving in Incirlirk, Turkey, San Bernardino, CA and Bitburg, Germany. He left the Air Force in 1986 and embarked on several careers eventually landing with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  Robert worked at Millville Flight Service Station, NJ, Morristown Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT), NJ, Philadelphia ATCT PA, Atlantic City ATCT, NJ, FAA Headquarters Washington, D.C. and Charlotte ATCT, NC. Robert retired March 2017 completing 35 years of government service.

Robert, affectionately known as Mitchell or Mitch to his family, Mace to his friends and Ice Man to many of his coworkers. He embraced retirement by achieving higher education.  Robert received an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Central Piedmont Community College in 2019.  He then attended Winthrop College and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  He was a huge fitness advocate.  He thoroughly enjoyed cutting the grass and meticulously maintained his yard and property.  In retirement, he especially enjoyed being available for our two youngest children shuttling them to and fro.  He was a huge fan of his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

Robert met Latasha in February of 2000. They were married on May 7, 2005 and were married for 17 years.

Robert’s memories will be cherished by his wife Latasha; his five children, Erica Ingram Bogard, Ebony Ingram, Robert Ingram II, Kai Ingram and Quincy Ingram. Three grandchildren, Tyana Adaway, Elyse Bogard and Essence Bogard; his siblings Charles “Turk” Ingram, Jr., Gary “Don"(Annette) Ingram, Beverly Williams and Mildred (Rodney) Little; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.  Robert is predeceased by his brother William Ingram and his sisters Florence “Ann” Ingram and Mary “Lois” (Anthony) Ingram-Flanigan.

The family of Robert would like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the gracious showing of love, generosity and support received during their time of bereavement.  Words are too weak to define or express all the kind acts that have been displayed. May God continue to bless you.
