Richard James Kirkbride

Rock Hill – Mr. Richard James Kirkbride, 82, died Monday, June 27, 2022, at Piedmont Medical Center.

 Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Mike Honeycutt officiating. 

 A native of Sault Ste Marie, MI, Mr. Kirkbride is a son of the late Thomas Michael Kirkbride and Lilian Helen Wendeline Kirkbride.  He was a graduate of Michigan Technology University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering.  He was a member of the Jaycees and the American Society of Metals.  He was also a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed volunteering with different ministries of the church.  He will be remembered as a man who enjoyed skiing, golfing, playing chess, and fencing. 

 Surviving are his wife, Raelene Joyce Folkersma Kirkbride; a son, Robert James Kirkbride; a sister, Donna Arelene Blair (Ronald); two brothers-in-law, Ronald Folkersma (Marie) and Arnold Folkersma (Helen).  He was preceded in death by a son, Richard John Kirkbride; and a brother, Robert Thomas Kirkbride.

 Memorial donations may be made to the Catawba Terrace Care Center, 1320 India Hook Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732 or to the Westminster Presbyterian Church at the same address.
