Richard, ‘Rich” Barbato, was 75 years young of Rock Hill South Carolina formerly of Syracuse NY, peacefully went to be with the Lord Friday January 1, 2021.
Rich was born April 20, 1945 to the late Elmer Carmen Barbato and Violet Ann Ilacqua Barbato.
Mr. Barbato was an E4 Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Boston from 1964 until 1966. He had a distinguished career as a Firefighter with the city of Syracuse New York, loved to go fishing, hunting and bowling. He enjoyed listening to country and oldies music. Rich was a great cook and loved to eat anything spicy. His favorite food was Italian, Macaroni with sauce, meatballs and sausage.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years Pamela Barbato, four daughters: Rita and Gina Barbato of Syracuse NY, Jennifer Barbato of Rock Hill SC, Deborah Carmeci of Fort Mill SC and Glenn Nicholls of Glen Carbon IL, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 South Cherry Road, Rock Hill SC, Saturday January 9, 2021 at 3:00pm.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project-Donate or to the charity of your choice.
