Marie G. Sherer

Marie Sherer (June 30, 1948 - January 29, 2023) was born to Miro and Kathryn Gianesello in Rock Hill, SC. She was the beloved wife of Samuel Sherer, whom she met at the Rock Hill A&P grocery store where she was working. She assisted him when he came in as a customer to pick produce and he asked her on a date. They were married in 1973 and welcomed their son, Jeffrey, in 1977. Marie, Sam, and Jeff shared many wonderful memories traveling to attend Nascar racing events, Jimmy Buffet concerts, and basking in the sun at the beach. She was devastated when she suddenly lost the love of her life, Sam, in July 2004.

Marie was the loving sister of Myra Sendrick and Debbie Matsen, who both survived her. She is also survived by her son Jeffrey, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Marie had a deep and abiding love for animals, and treated her pets like they were her children. In her memory, the family requests that donations be made to the York County Humane Society.

A celebration of life will be held later, date to be announced.
