Maria Balius, our Aba, 94, peacefully went to be with our Lord Sunday morning, January 24, 2021 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 17, 1926 in Cuba. Daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Gonzalez.
Her greatest attribute, other than to always be there for her family, was to always be willing to help others. She was a fabulous cook and an accomplished seamstress. Always willing to cook you something yummy when someone came to visit, or sew you a missing button or repair a hem when needed.
Most important to her was her family and she will forever be remembered as a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Her lasting legacy will be cherished by her survivors, sister Berta. Sons, Gene and Alex. Grandchildren, Gene Jr., Michael, Amanda and Alex Jr. Great Grandchildren, Adelie, Arielle, Chloe, Dylan and Zachary. Daughter in law, Barbara, Lauren and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you that expressed compassion and concern for her.
