Jocelyn E. Layne was the first-born child of John Layne and Earthalee Laboard of Charleston, SC.
Jocelyn graduated Uniondale High School, was certified as a Veterinarian Assistant from BOCES, and received her Associates degree from Farmingdale University. With her creative talent, she played bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and piano, as well as using her artistic skills to create murals on walls, and worked with all types of art such as charcoal, water, oil, paints, ceramics and paper mache. She created memorable art in the home and for stores.
She is survived by her many family members who loved, celebrated and appreciated her smile, laughter, and kind heart. She leaves behind her two daughters, Chykia S. White and Cyer M. John of SC. She has four grandchildren, Cyera J. John, Yaphet J. John Jr, and Kyrstin D. John, and Kourtlyn Camille Autumn White. Jocelyn is also survived by her siblings, Steven Layne of SC, Aurora F.A. Workman of NY, Antonio F.D. Workman of CA. Her nieces and nephews, Lyneè Urban, Stephanie Marcella Layne, Marcus Workman, Jayden Workman, Desmond Workman, Xavier Workman, Rawle (James) Workman, and Michele Workman will miss her
