Hunter Ellis Martin

Hunter Martin, age 25, Fort Mill, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

Hunter was born on January 6, 1998, to Lynn and Jan Martin in Rock Hill, SC.  A lively and fun-loving child, Hunter was known by his friends and family to be smart, ambitious and ready for anything. After Hunter graduated from Nation Ford High School in 2016, he went on to study communications at North Greenville University. He spent his summers away from college sharing his love and appreciation for nature with children and peers at the Anne Springs Close Greenway as a camp counselor and marketing intern.

After graduating with a degree in Mass Communications, he started his first job at Novant Health as a communications specialist. In 2023, he was marketing coordinator for GRH Development, Rock Hill, SC.

When he wasn’t building his career, Hunter enjoyed spending time with beloved family and friends caring for everyone with his cooking skills. As an avid outdoorsman and sports fan Hunter enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams the Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves. Hunter also enjoyed spending time outside in the woods chasing wild game and making memories with friends and family.

Hunter was known to always have a smile on his face and never knew a stranger. His humor and quick wit never failed to brighten everyone’s day with his infectious charisma and charm.

Hunter is survived by his parents, Lynn and Jan Martin, his brother Jayson and sister-in-law, Mallory, and girlfriend of six years, Maddie Andrews.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church Fort Mill on September 9th at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Anne Springs Close Greenway an organization that Hunter was passionate about.
