Carole Johnson Choate Obituary

Carole Lee Johnson Choate: August 11, 1935- November 27 2022.

Ms. Choate retired from Winthrop University as Assistant to the Dean of Visual and Performing Arts. Previously she had served as Assistant to the Dean of the School of Music. She was one of the founding members of Winthrop Chapter of the Delta Omicron Music fraternity. Being a part of the Winthrop community was an important part of her life and career. After her retirement she enjoyed gardening, spending time with her daughters and son in law and spending time at Cherry Grove Beach and Disney World.

Ms. Choate was preceded in death by her beloved husband Riley, and her brothers Ron Johnson and Dale Johnson. She is survived by her daughters Lisa Choate of Rock Hill; Lyn Hahn (Norbert) of Philadelphia, her daughter from another mother Susan Sherlock; Sister in Law Shelba Johnson of Durham; Nieces Charis Moody (Burges) of Mooresville; Casey Summit (Joel) of Gastonia many great nieces and nephews.

Bass Cauthen is handling arrangements. Burial will be private.
