Albert Nunn Obituary

Mr. Albert “Buddy” Foster Nunn, 81 died Saturday, February 6, 2021, at his home.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Nunn was the son of the late Albert Foster Nunn and Victoria Baumil Nunn.

Surviving are his daughter, Monica Michele Nunn; three grandchildren, Madison Towe, Elizabeth Nicole Nunn (Monte Hopkins) and Seth Albert Nunn; two great-grandsons, Sloan Atlas Everette, Jaxson Carter Hopkins; two step-daughters, Patricia Brett (Charlie), Melissa Taylor (Jeff); six step-grandchildren, Becca Ross and Caroline Brett, Blake Taylor, Hayden Taylor, Dylan Taylor, and Haley Grace Taylor, Mara Kaelin,  and Areil Fetty. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Bullock Nunn; his son, Jason Carter Nunn; his parents and one sister Francis Rae.

Chief Petty Officer Nunn, served as an electrician in the United States Navy for 5 years and served in the Reserve for many years. Upon being discharged from the Navy he went to work for U.S. Plywood (then Georgia Pacific) as an electrician for many years until he retired.

Buddy loved to get in his car and go driving, he was a big Duke fan, loved “junk” blues music, and loved playing poker with his Legion friends at the Frank Roach Post 34 of the American Legion where he was an active member. He loved shagging and was beloved by his shagging community. He was inducted into the Halls of Fame of both the Charlotte Area Shaggers and the Rock Hill Shag Club and was an original member of the Lake Wylie Shag Club with whom he was a catalyst for their fundraising for Camp Kemo a camp for children with cancer and their families.
