Carmen Vega-Ruiz Obituary

Carmen Vega, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away suddenly at the age of 67 at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Costa Rica, Carmen later moved with her husband to the United States, where she lived with joy, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She was an example of strength and resilience, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to caring for her loved ones.

Carmen is survived by her loving children: Manuel, Felipe, Diego, and her beloved daughter, Maria. She was also deeply loved by her son-in-law, Nathan, and her daughters-in-law: Tiffany, Katie, and Leana. Carmen was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Isaiah, Sarai, Emma, Lucas, Penelope, and Theo, who loved being spoiled by their Tita/Coco. She was loved and cherished by her siblings, Marita, Jose and Luis and their families, and all of her sisters/brothers in law  and her nieces and nephews.

Carmen's heart was heavy with the recent loss of her beloved husband, Manuel Roldan Santamaria,  who passed away just three weeks ago. Carmen's unwavering devotion to her husband during his illness  over the past two years was a testament to her boundless love and strength.

A private ceremony will be held to honor Carmen's life and legacy in Fort Mill, SC near her son’s home.

Carmen Vega's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her gentle soul, compassionate nature, and enduring love.
